perfecting presents

I have a fabulous sister in-law named Ana who {candidly} has a wild crafty side that I was unaware of.  We received a massive box in the mail right before Christmas and were flabbergasted when we discovered what was inside.  She has completely inspired me and opened my eyes to a new way of giving gifts.  We truly felt the love that went into adding each and every detail and the time that was spent perfecting these treasures.

Are you as blown away as we were?  Encouraged to try something new?  I hope so!...and I cannot wait to give it a try myself~  Thank you Anita and David for such beautiful gifts!

in case you were wondering...

Yes, it's true, I am actually posting twice in one day, it's a miracle!!!  Melina from Only a Flight Away tagged me in a charming questionnaire. These are the rules and way too much information about myself shall follow.

1.You must post these rules.
2. Each person must post 11 things
about themselves on their blog.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for
you in their post and create 11 new questions
for the people you tag to answer.

Here it goes: 11 things about ME:
  1. I am 1000% committed to my husband and my marriage.  I truly believe my hubs is the most perfect man for me and I am the most perfect woman for him.
  2. I was born in Argentina and moved to California when I was 8.
  3. Procrastinator should be my middle name {I think I work well under stress is my explanation}.
  4. I'm a total Martha Stewart wanna-be.  Since I could speak english and she was first on-air, I watched her in the mornings before anyone in my household woke up {definitely not normal behavior for a little girl}.
  5. Shopping is way to therapeutic!~ if I'm having a rough day and I buy something ANYTHING at Target, I feel much better {not sure how healthy that is....}.
  6. I became a Seventh Day Adventist after meeting Dany {my hubby}.
  7. I try really hard to be the perfect wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend,, in the new year I want to be content and satisfied being imperfectly perfect just as I am.
  8. I make my bed {almost} every single morning and I map out my cleaning duties through the week,  The house will always be nearly perfect when anyone comes to visit.  {Slight case of OCD going on here}.
  9. Nutella has a permanent existence in my pantry~ My otherwise very healthy diet has an overwhelming need for sweets.
  10. My children rule my world during the day~ it's parks, art projects, meals, teaching, dancing and answering gazzilions of questions; until they fall asleep!
  11. God gave me some amazing women in my life: my granny, mommy, sister, mom-in-law, aunts, best friends... I think of them and talk to them when I'm feeling blue and derive so much good energy to keep going.  Being a mother is a rough job but I am so thankful for the strength they give me.

Here are the questions Melina sent me:

1. What's your favorite cupcake flavor?
strawberry shortcake
2. Long or Short socks?
I live in FL, so I'm flip flops 99% of the time {unless I'm running, then short}
3. What are your plans for next year?
to  take more road trips ~ hopefully NYC in the spring and around Florida throughout the year
4. What's in your purse right now?
other then a baby bag, I carry a small purse with my wallet, {not exaggerating} 20 combined lip balms, lip glosses and lipsticks; I am a bit of an addict + loads of coupons {which I use diligently}, receipts to Target, hair bands for Bela, wipes, and I am planning on adding a nail file any day now because I 'm always in need of one!
5. What's your favorite accessory?
I'm a big belt fan {I just got three skinny belts in  various colors to add to my collection}
6. If you could change something about yourself,
What would it be and Why?
I wish I could accept and appreciate myself more.  I tend to compare myself to others and always feel not good enough.
7. Any piercing or tattoos?
just my ears pierced since I wee baby girl.  I was supposed to get a star tattooed on my lower back with my sister when I was a teenager but I chickened out.
8. High heels or flats?
definitely heels by preference, but flats are my reality
9.What was your favorite childhood TV show?
my siblings and I were huge Nickelodeon freaks: Salute your Shorts, Rugrats,  I can't remember the one with Melissa Joan heart {??} .  I also loved cooking shows and loads of MTV {when they actually showed music videos}.
10. What is your greatest fear?
to loose a child
11. What was the last thing that made you laugh?
my kids not listening to me and jumping on the bed, my husband doing God knows what, my sister being her OCD self, we laugh a lot on a daily basis.

Now I am tagginng:

DianaKendraFernandaRebeca and Vivian~

capturing christmas

It's 3 days until Christmas and the magic of the season has finally filled my heart.  It took a little while this year.  Why?  Busyness, tiredness... the usual mom of three stuff.  I have to say it was this picture that did it:

We had just spent the day decorating the house and she refused to take the santa hat off for the duration of it.  We read the story of baby Jesus and she fell sound asleep.  Magical.

The house has never looked so lovely for Christmas.

These flowers are a new addition to the decor of the season and I just love them.

We did an impromptu photo-shoot in my bedroom because the light is unsurpassable in this space in the afternoon.

We have so much to look forward to this 4 day weekend.  Spending Christmas with my sister and her husband {her first Christmas as a married woman}, the return of my beloved best friends Beca and Mikey from L.A., experiencing church on Christmas Eve, Luna's first Christmas morning{!}, the look on Bela and Maximo's faces Christmas morning when they see the massive amounts of gifts under ...err around {our tiny little} tree and so much more it's hard to analyze it all. It's going to be AMAZING and chaotically beautiful.

Merry Christmas to all and Happy Birthday Jesus!

a shorts story

Hello dahlins!  Is everybody nice and toasty today?!  Well, only in South Florida would one be posting about shorts in December.  You see, we have the luxury of enjoying these cropped numbers in 73 degree weather while the rest of the country is freezing their booties off.  Dressing up shorts is such a treat!  You can show of your hard work {running like a freak and gazillions of lunges anyone?} and not have to worry about flashing something unexpected.  It has been an eternity since I have been able to pull these puppies out of my wardrobe {preggos and high-waisted shorts don't mix}, so it is a true delight to do so.

Winter white all the way.

Even Lulu rocked out her shorts romper and tights.

For cyber monday I ordered these goods from Forever21 {buy one get one free!}.

...and I think Santa might be dropping these guys at our house!

Here are a few of my favorite looks from Pinterest:

I am currently coveting this lovely blouse to compliment the violet shorts and I am hoping Santa gets the message!

Have an amazing weekend ~ Delfi

thanksgiving {better late then never}

This Thanksgiving was one to remember for me.  Being reunited with my sister and her husband, sharing it with special friends and eating one of the best meals imaginable made this holiday spectacular.

This was the table my sister and I designed.  We are both obsessed with copper {anything} was stunning against creamy white and the brightness of the flowers.

Camylla made the pinecone name-tags, so ingenious and charming.

This was the guest of honor, our gorgeous turkey.   I made it with a sage, fresh thyme, basil, garlic butter that I whipped up.  It was stuffed with apple, carrots & sweet potatoes.  The juices were out of this world with the infused flavors.

In the morning, I watched a bunch of videos in on carving the beast.  With sisi's help we did a darn good job!

Victoria made her famous bread, the best in the world!

We had so much food, it took up the entire buffet and we had to serve in the kitchen as well.

Some beautiful words of gratitude for so much abundance of blessings from our Heavenly Father we shared before the meal.

...yeah, we even had potato soup, we don't mess around people!

Dessert included tea and madelines, chocolate moossse, chocolate cake, apple crisp pie, pumpkin cream cheese roulade,  vanilla pound loaf.  Pretty much everything one could dream of!

... and the best part is having it all for breakfast the next morning!

Here are all of the beauties that made the day so fabulous.  ~Love you all!

Now its time for Christmas!!!!!!!!!
